Penn State football recruiting is experiencing a rare phenomenon as it transforms into an offensive line powerhouse. The Nittany Lions have already secured four offensive line commitments in the 2024 recruiting class, including three top-60 linemen, with more potentially on the way. Adding to this momentum, Penn State’s football recruiting efforts are currently focused on a major O-line target: Ethan Calloway, a composite four-star offensive tackle hailing from Lake Norman High School in North Carolina.

Earlier this week, Calloway released his top-8 remaining schools, and the Penn State football program made the cut.

Ethan Calloway is a highly sought-after recruit for Penn State’s 2024 recruiting class, as the Nittany Lions have already landed a number of top offensive linemen. As a four-star offensive tackle, Calloway is ranked highly in the 247 Sports Composite rankings, coming in as the No. 213 recruit nationally, the No. 19 offensive tackle in his class, and the No. 4 recruit in the state of North Carolina.

On3 also rates Calloway highly, placing him as a top-75 recruit nationally, the No. 10 offensive tackle in his class, and the No. 1 player in North Carolina. At 6-foot-7 and 310 pounds, Calloway’s addition to the Penn State football recruiting class would be a significant boost for the program’s recruiting efforts.

Penn State football’s 2024 recruiting class has already made a significant splash, currently ranking among the top-5 in the nation according to the 247 Sports Composite team rankings. While Ohio State (ranked 2nd) and Michigan (ranked 1st) are still ahead, there is plenty of time for the Nittany Lions to catch up. Landing a top-rated offensive tackle like Ethan Calloway would certainly bolster their efforts.

As of now, the 2024 class boasts 12 hard commits, including 7 four-stars and 5 three-stars. Among the most recent additions is Eagan Boyer, a three-star offensive lineman and top-50 offensive tackle hailing from North Carolina, the same state as Calloway.
