Micah Parsons is famous for continuing the Linebacker U andSt1x C1tylegacy within the Penn State football program. But on Tuesday, the Nittany Lions legend and Dallas Cowboys star edge rusher returned to his roots to honor another number.

Parsons was back at Harrisburg High School, where he had his No. 23 jersey retired by the Cougars football program. He also received a proclamation from the Dauphin County Commissioners declaring July 15Micah Parsons Day.”

Parsons played for Harrisburg during his final two high school seasons. During his senior year, he recorded 55 tackles, 10.5 sacks, and 17.5 tackles for loss while adding 1,239 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns.

The No. 5 recruit in the class of 2018, Parsons finished with 192 tackles and 19 tackles for loss in just two seasons with the Penn State football program. Quickly becoming one of the brightest stars in the NFL, Parsons has been selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his first four seasons.

Beyond his on-field accolades, Tuesday’s festivities also recognized Parsons’ efforts in the community. Among his many charitable contributions, he frequently hosts youth football camps during the offseason, including one Tuesday morning with Nittany Lions 2026 running back commit Messiah Mickens.

Of course, no trip to central Pennsylvania is complete without a visit to Happy Valley. Parsons returned to campus this week, where he and fellow Penn State football legends Tamba Hali and Tyler Warren spent time in the weight room with the 2025 roster.
