This week, Penn State football is trying to overcome a heartbreaking double-overtime loss to Oregon while preparing to head to the West Coast for its first road trip of the season. But on Monday, we are learning more details about the next time the Nittany Lions will appear in Beaver Stadium.

Announcing kickoff times and broadcast designations on Monday afternoon, the Big Ten revealed that the Nittany Lions’ October 11 home matchup with Northwestern will be a 3:30 p.m. start on FS1.

In July, Penn State announced the mid-October contest as the school’s annual homecoming game. It will also serve as the all-stadium stripe out and feature the program’s “Generations of Greatness” throwback uniforms.

Northwestern earned its second win of the season against UCLA over the weekend. The Wildcats face UL Monroe this Saturday, then will have a bye week before traveling to Happy Valley.

Penn State football is 16-5 against Northwestern since joining the Big Ten in 1993. The Nittany Lions are 3-2 against the Wildcats under James Franklin and are currently on a three-game winning streak. When the schools last met in 2023, the Blue and White earned a 41-13 victory in Evanston.

The game will come right before a critical three-game stretch for the Nittany Lions, which will involve road trips to Iowa and top-ranked Ohio State as well as a home matchup with No. 8 Indiana.
