Yesterday, the Nittany Lions landed a four-star offensive tackle from Wisconsin: Garrett Sexton. Today, the Penn State football recruiting class landed yet another major offensive line target: Eagan Boyer, a composite three-star lineman out of North Carolina. With Penn State football gaining tons of momentum on the recruiting trail — now having 12 committed players in the 2024 recruiting class — the Nittany Lions’ class saw a notable jump in the rankings. With Boyer’s commitment, Penn State’s class ranks in the top-5 classes nationally according to the 247 Sports Composite rankings.

The Nittany Lions’ recruiting efforts are clearly paying off. Penn State now has 12 hard commits — 9 four-stars and 4 three-stars — though the class lacks a five-star. That being said, the offseason is still quite young, and Penn State football is trending for a number of major talents.

Since the Blue/White game on April 15th, James Franklin has now locked up several sought-after commitments, including a pair of elite linemen from Wisconsin: Donovan Harbour and Garrett Sexton.

The Nittany Lions aren’t done just yet

Penn State’s offensive line unit continues to grow stronger with each passing day; yesterday, the Nittany Lions grabbed three top-60 linemen, and although Eagan Boyer is not as highly-ranked as the other three, the Lions grabbed a fourth offensive line commit today, and they continue to build an incredible O-Line class.

As we transition into summer ball and more, look for Penn State football to defend its top-5 ranking and continue to lock down some of the nation’s top recruits — one of the biggest names that the Nittany Lions are looking to grab is composite four-star QB Michael Van Buren out of Maryland, who appears to be down to two schools: Oregon and Penn State.

The Penn State football recruiting class is elite, though it still ranks behind the Michigan Wolverines and Ohio State Buckeyes, who are both in the top-3 right now.
