The recruiting trail is starting to heat up for Penn State football, which currently boasts one of the nation’s top 2024 classes, yet still trails both Michigan and Ohio State in this year’s composite rankings. Still, June has gone well for the Blue and White so far, and according to new insider predictions, it could be getting even better soon. Today, new crystal balls were placed in favor of the Nittany Lions to land a top four-star target, who happens to be the No. 1 recruit in New York.

Josiah Brown has been a top target for Penn State football for quite some time now, and with the bulk of the recruiting season in full swing over the summer, it appears that the race for his commitment is starting to thin. Today, James Franklin and his Nittany Lions took the lead in Brown’s recruitment due to a series of major crystal ball projections from a few of the country’s top insiders.

These two new insider picks were placed by none other than 247 Sports recruiting director Steve Wiltfong and top recruiting expert Brian Dohn. Dohn has been 100% accurate in this class so far, and Wiltfong is close to perfect as well. Additionally, these new picks were placed within minutes of one another, implying unity in their expertise.

Josiah Brown is a 6-foot, 170-pound athlete from Hicksville, NY. His offer list is impressive, which is unsurprising considering he is one of the best recruits in this cycle. However, with Penn State closing in, it appears that the Nittany Lions are in great shape against the competition.

According to the 247 Sports rankings, Josiah Brown is a four-star athlete and ranks as the No. 202 recruit in the nation, the No. 19 athlete in the 2024 recruiting cycle, and the No. 1 recruit in New York. Penn State already has commitments from the No. 1 player in Pennsylvania, the No. 1 player in Wisconsin, and the No. 1 player in Connecticut. Adding yet another top recruit would be huge for the Blue and White as they look to break into the top 5 in the team composite rankings once again.
