STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — Over the past few weeks, the Nittany Lions have been getting very active on the recruiting trail. Specifically, Penn State football has been hitting the 2024 recruiting class quite hard, and has landed two 2024 commitments in the last few weeks, bringing the class up to six commits thus far. This weekend, James Franklin and his staff will have a massive opportunity as the No. 1 player in the country, Dylan Stewart, will be on a recruiting visit to Happy Valley.
No. 1 player in the country will take recruiting visit to Penn State football this weekend
This Saturday, for the third time since 2021, the No. 1 player in the country will make the trip for a recruiting visit to see Happy Valley and the Penn State football team. Dylan Stewart, an elite edge rusher in the 2024 recruiting class, is an On3 five-star EDGE and is ranked as the No. 1 edge rusher, the No. 1 player in Washington DC, and the No. 1 player in the country.
Dylan Stewart stands at 6-foot-5 and weighs in over 235-pounds as he enters his final season of high school football this fall. His incredible frame and elite athletic ability make him a dangerous threat off the edge, and a constant issue for opposing offensive lines. While the Nittany Lions do not appear to be in the lead for his commitment right now, Penn State football is still among the nation’s top candidates according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
This weekend will be Stewart’s third recruiting visit to State College, and his first of the new year. This weekend’s visit will tie the Penn State Nittany Lions with the Ohio State Buckeyes in visits, both having three to this point, which ranks both programs at No. 2 in recruiting visits. The leader in visits so far is the South Carolina Gamecocks, who boast six visits.
Seeing as there are currently no crystal ball predictions for Stewart right now, this weekend will be a massive opportunity for James Franklin & Co. to regain some momentum for the No. 1 player in the country in the 2024 recruiting class.
