The Penn State Nittany Lions have seen a good amount of recent success on the 2024 recruiting trail, locking up two solid commitments in the past week. Recently a new Penn State football commit — Luke Reynolds — took some time to comment on the style of Nittany Lion head coach James Franklin, who is well-known for his recruiting ability and being a ‘player’s coach.’

New Penn State football commit Luke Reynolds is a 2024 three-star tight end recruit — he is also ranked as the No. 33 tight end in his recruiting class and the No. 7 player in the state of Connecticut (On3). He stands at 6-foot-4 and weighs in at 215-pounds as he enters his senior year of high school at Cheshire Academy in CT. Last weekend, he became the fifth and one of Penn State’s most recent commits in the 2024 class; he is also the Nittany Lions first tight end in the cycle.

When choosing a new home, Nittany Lion head coach James Franklin stood out to Reynolds — Franklin’s personal and unique style made Penn State football the place to be.

“Coach does a great job and has done a great job with the program,” new Penn State football commit Luke Reynolds told BWI. “He’s an honest coach that is all-in for his players to succeed. I enjoyed hearing him speak throughout the day because he’s a knowledgeable person.”

Not long after the Nittany Lions landed Reynolds, James Franklin pulled another top talent in the 2024 recruiting class: four-star cornerback Jon Mitchell from Florida. Mitchell is ranked as a top 10 corner in the class, and was another huge addition to Penn State’s newest class, which now totals six commits thus far in the cycle.

Once again, the style and recruiting ability of Penn State football head coach James Franklin is proven to work, and clearly did when it comes to new Penn State football commit Luke Reynolds.
