Last Saturday, the spring transfer portal window opened on the same day as Penn State’s famous Blue/White spring game. Now, Penn State football is back at work in the transfer portal, and the Nittany Lions already see a few losses of their own. This morning, four-star transfer cornerback Storm Duck hit the portal, and now, Penn State linebacker Bobby Walchak has done the same.

Out of high school, linebacker Bobby Walchak was an unranked recruit, according to the 247 Sports Composite. He appeared on Penn State’s roster for two seasons — 2021 and 2022 — though he did not record any stats throughout either season as a freshman or sophomore.

Bobby Walchak is a 5-foot-11, 212-pound linebacker out of Pottsville, PA — about two hours east of State College — and was not in line for much playing time in the coming seasons with the Nittany Lions. On Friday, he officially announced that he would enter the transfer portal via his Twitter account. He will have three years of college football eligibility remaining.

“Being a part of Penn State football these last two seasons has been amazing,” he said in his announcement. “I would like to thank my teammates, coaches, and staff for the memories I will miss you all. With that said I will be entering my name in the transfer portal with 3 years Remaining of eligibility.”
