The Nittany Lions have been reuniting with players of the past and that theme continued on Saturday. The Penn State football team was hosting Nolan Rucci on a visit and the former Wisconsin Badger made his commitment during that reported visit. Rucci now joins Chase Meyer and Julian Fleming as transfer portal commitments for Penn State.

The Penn State football team has to replace both starting tackles ahead of the 2024 season. Now, the Nittany Lions have their guy in one of the Keystone State’s top players for the 2021 class. The Penn State football team has landed Nolan Rucci, the former five-star OL who originally committed to Wisconsin.

The Litiz native was a clear prime target for James Franklin after hitting the portal on Thursday. Of course, Rucci’s choice of Wisconsin out of high school particularly stung the Nittany Lions, given that his father, Todd Rucci, played for Penn State football in the early 1990s.

Rucci is the third former five-star recruit Penn State hosted this week. Friday, ex-Texas A&M and North Carolina CB Tony Grimes popped up on campusThe Nittany Lions are now also favored to land former Georgia CB AJ Harris, who visited on Wednesday. Penn State continues to use the transfer portal in an effort to compete against the best the Big Ten has to offer next season.
