The Penn State football team just signed its 2024 recruiting class on National Signing Day a few weeks ago. We got to hear many of the signees speak, and soon, a lot of those players will enroll early and begin their Penn State career. There is something to be said for players who have committed long ago and never waivered from that commitment. That’s where four-star offensive line signee Cooper Cousins found himself. Now, Cousins is down at the All-American Bowl and making a serious name for himself.

2024 Penn State football commit impressing at All-American Bowl

Cooper Cousins initially committed to the Penn State football team on December 20th, 2023. He was the first commit of the 2024 recruiting class for the Nittany Lions. At 6’6, 323 pounds, Cousins is the ideal size for an instant impact player. Currently, Cousins and Luke Reynolds are competing against the top competition at the All-American Bowl in San Antonio, TX.

Cousins has been a standout during bowl practice. Gabe Brooks of 247sports writes, “Penn State Top247 signee Cooper Cousins pointed out that he’s played a lot of center in his Erie (Pa.) McDowell career, but if you look at his AAB check-in numbers, you would think he’s a tackle. Cousins walked in and put a 6-6, 323 on the ledger, in addition to solid length (33 1/2 arm) and requisite hand size (9 1/4). Cousins wears his mass quite well and may represent a true O-line chameleon in his position versatility, considering his physical tools and on-field experience.”

Cousins has been serving up pancake blocks all week against the top competition. This is a sign of what he is capable and with coaching from Phil Trautwein, the sky is the limit for this 2024 signee.
