Life moves on for the Penn State football team even after a disheartening Peach Bowl loss. The Nittany Lions need to look to turn things around ahead of the 2024 season. There’s no better place to start than the roots of the program, which starts with recruiting. The Nittany Lions have just recently added 25 players to the 2024 recruiting class and now look to focus on adding more talent to the 2025 recruiting class. James Franklin and his staff are now in the hunt for Onis Konanbanny a cornerback from South Carolina.

The Penn State football team put its young defensive backs on an island this past Saturday against Ole Miss. Unfortunately, they were a couple of steps behind the Rebels on many plays. Growth needs to take place in that room between now and next fall. But the other thing to continue with is adding additional talent.

Insert Onis Konanbanny into the conversation. A 2025 recruiting class member and a four-star cornerback from Columbia, South Carolina, who has a significant interest in becoming a Nittany Lion. Konanbanny has an amazing background story as he moved to the United States from London in 2022.

He has a background in track and soccer and reportedly had blazing speed. With football being a relatively new sport, one can only imagine his ranking will continue to rise.

Now, he has released his top 10 schools, which include Florida State, LSU, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, UNC, USC, and Penn State.

Where does the 2025 recruiting class currently stand?

The Penn State football team currently has the No. 8 class in the 2025 recruiting cycle. Linebacker DJ McClary and tight end Brady O’Hara leading the way as the current top prospects in the class for the Nittany Lions. Penn State has 7 commits but is hopeful to get up 20-25 by the time next December rolls around.
