Penn State football has assembled a recruiting class that ranks just outside of the top 5 in the composite standings right now, coming in at 7th nationally and 3rd in the Big Ten conference. One of the class’s biggest remaining needs is an elite-caliber wide receiver to pair with rising star quarterback Ethan Grunkemeyer, who committed last month. Alex Taylor, a four-star North Carolina wideout, is being made a priority for the Nittany Lions ahead of his 5th June official visit, which he recently decided to give to the Nittany Lions.

Official visit may go a long way for Penn State football

Alex Taylor is a hot recruit for many of the nation’s top programs; however, five teams have separated themselves from the rest so far. Among his five official visits will be Clemson, Virginia Tech, NC State, North Carolina, and Penn State football. The Nittany Lions narrowly beat out Florida and Ole Miss for his 5th visit spot, but according to Taylor himself, all five of these programs are on even footing in his recruitment.

Since official visits matter most to Alex Taylor, this month is going to be crucial in deciding whether or not he ends up in the Blue and White. His commitment date is set for July 29th, so Penn State football fans won’t need to wait too long before he makes a final decision this summer.

Alex Taylor, Penn State have mutual interest

The Nittany Lions were one of the first programs to offer Taylor, and reports indicate that the coaching staff has been doing a great job in his recruitment so far. However, this month will ultimately narrow down the options, and Penn State is looking to make a late push to stay among the top contenders.

According to the ON3 Prediction Machine, NC State and North Carolina are the current frontrunners ahead of his visits, but a lot can change after he gets on campus and sees where he will fit with the program.

He has yet to visit Penn State football, and there is unquestionably a great deal of mutual interest. So, when his next visit gets set up, make sure to keep a close eye on this four-star North Carolina wide receiver’s summer trip to State College — it could make or break the Lions’ chances with this highly talented 2024 weapon. Taylor claims that the coaching staff has been making a strong pitch as of late and he knows that the program sees him as a priority, which are both great signs this early in June.
