Yesterday, the Nittany Lions hosted Dejaun Lane, a four-star linebacker and a priority target for the team this summer. The current indications are positive for Penn State to secure his commitment. According to the ON3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Penn State is heavily favored to secure Lane’s commitment, with a 92% chance of landing the talented linebacker for their 2024 recruiting class. Furthermore, a recent insider prediction from ON3 also favors Penn State.

In the industry rankings, Dejaun Lane currently holds the No. 304 spot nationally, ranks No. 32 among linebackers in the 2024 recruiting class, and stands at No. 9 among recruits in Maryland. As of now, Penn State has only secured two linebacker commits for the 2024 class, making Lane, one of James Franklin’s top targets, a perfect fit to fill this need. His addition would be a significant boost for Penn State’s already impressive top 10 recruiting class.
