As spring ball ends and attention shifts to the Blue-White game this weekend and more, the 2024 recruiting class is starting to take priority among the Penn State coaching staff. On Monday, the 2024 Penn State recruiting class received a wave of massive predictions from some of 247’s top insiders. Now, the Nittany Lions are favored to land two major offensive recruits: one quarterback and one wide receiver.

2024 Penn State recruiting is favored to land Michael Van Buren

Michael Van Buren — who is rated as a five-star quarterback by ESPN — is currently heavily favored to wind up in the Blue and White all said and done. Last week, Van Buren received a series of predictions to commit to Penn State from the Rivals Network. Now, two of 247’s top insiders — Steve Wiltfong and Brian Dohn — have placed their crystal balls for Van Buren to choose Penn State football.

Michael Van Buren is a 6-foot-0, 185-pound quarterback from Maryland and has been giving a lot of attention to Penn State football lately. Last week, he took his sixth unofficial visit to State College, and on June 16th, he will make his 7th trip to Happy Valley. His commitment date is set for July 8th, 2023.

Nittany Lions receive a new prediction for Jaylan Hornsby

The second high-caliber offensive recruit that Penn State football is favored to land is Jaylen Hornsby, a four-star wide receiver from Camden High School in New Jersey. Like Van Buren, Hornsby is one of Penn State’s top targets on the offensive side of the football for its 2024 recruiting class and would undeniably be a massive addition for the Nittany Lions.

Hornsby is a 6-foot-2, 195-pound wide receiver, ranked as the No. 53 wideout in the 2024 recruiting class and the No. 8 player in New Jersey. He is a four-star wide receiver according to 247’s composite rankings.
