Penn State football schedules key official visit with top lineman recruit

Penn State football has been performing well in the 2024 class so far, and in a few weeks, the Nittany Lions will enter a season that James Franklin excels in: official visit season. Few teams execute official visits as effectively as the Penn State Nittany Lions, and throughout June, they have numerous high-profile visitors traveling to State College, including a highly ranked four-star offensive lineman.

One of these significant visitors is Guerby Lambert, a four-star offensive tackle ranked as the No. 2 OT prospect in the 2024 recruiting class by ON3. Lambert has recently scheduled his official visit for June 23rd, and according to the RPM, Penn State appears to be in an excellent position in his recruitment. If Franklin strategically navigates the process, there is a strong possibility of securing another significant commitment.

Penn State football locks in another major official visit

There have been numerous official visits scheduled with Penn State football, but one recruit generating significant interest is Guerby Lambert from West Roxbury, MA. Lambert is a highly sought-after four-star prospect and is being pursued by several prominent Midwest and East Coast programs.

According to the Recruiting Prediction Machine, the current top three schools in Lambert’s recruitment are Boston College, Penn State football, and Notre Dame, in that order. However, the rankings have fluctuated over the past few weeks, with the most recent change occurring on May 17th. Despite this, the Nittany Lions have managed to maintain a close second position behind Boston College. With Lambert’s official visit approaching rapidly, Penn State’s chances of securing his commitment are looking favorable at the moment.

As per ON3’s industry rankings, Guerby Lambert is a highly regarded four-star offensive lineman in the 2024 class. He is currently ranked as the 45th overall recruit in the nation, the second-best offensive tackle in his class, and the number one recruit in Massachusetts.

If Penn State manages to secure his commitment, it would be a significant achievement for James Franklin and his coaching staff. Additionally, it would bring the Nittany Lions one step closer to closing the gap on Michigan (ranked first) and Ohio State (ranked third), who currently boast the top two recruiting classes in the Big Ten.
