The 2025 Penn State football recruiting class currently ranks among the nation’s best, sitting at No. 3 in the current composite team rankings and No. 1 overall in the Big Ten conference. Today, the Nittany Lions added a brand new major target out of Red Oak High School in Texas: four-star defensive lineman Kamauryn Morgan.

Morgan has a long list of offers already, and today, he announced that Penn State football is the newest team to throw its hat into the ring. Here is everything that you need to know about the newest 2025 Nittany Lion target.

According to the 247 Sports composite rankings, Kamauryn Morgan is a four-star defensive lineman in the 2025 recruiting class; he is ranked among the nation’s best, coming in at No. 142 nationally and No. 21 in the state of Texas. Morgan also ranks as the No. 13 EDGE in the composite rankings. On3 shares many of these same sentiments when it comes to Kamauryn Morgan, ranking him as the No. 161 recruit in the nation, the No. 18 defensive lineman, and the No. 26 2025 recruit in Texas. Rivals is the highest on Kamauryn Morgan, ranking him just outside of the top 125 nationally and pinning him as the No. 5 EDGE in the class.

Kamauryn Morgan is heading into his junior season of high school football right now, yet already boasts an impressive 6-foot-5, 230-pound frame. He is a highly coveted prospect for a number of top regional teams, including the Texas Longhorns, the Baylor Bears, and a few major SEC programs (such as Florida and Georgia).

The 2025 Penn State football recruiting class only contains three hard commits thus far, so this offer is a sign of more steps in the right direction in Morgan’s recruitment; it may be early in the 2025 class, though it is never too early to start making a great impression with a few of the nation’s best players. It is these connections and impressions that will set the tone for James Franklin’s next recruiting class, which is important for the program’s future recruiting success.
