The Penn State football team is rolling in the recruiting world. They continue to stack consistent talent in the 2025 recruiting class, and that theme continued last night when linebacker Alex Tatsch made his commitment to Penn State. But, he wasn’t the only in-state prospect on campus this weekend. Cam Smith also returned to Penn State, and if he decided to play his college football for the Nittany Lions, he and Tatsch could be a dynamic duo for years to come.

Top 5 athlete in PA returned to Penn State for Junior Day visit

Cam Smith is a four-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class. He is listed as an athlete according to 247Sports but primarily plays linebacker at St. Joseph’s Prep. He is currently ranked as the No. 5 player in PA in the 2025 cycle and is a top 20 linebacker nationally.

According to 247sports and On3, he returned to campus this weekend for a Junior Day visit. Smith was last on campus in July of 2023. He is a native of Philadephia, PA, and holds offers from Michigan, Duke, Texas A&M, West Virginia, and Penn State.

What are the Nittany Lions getting in Alex Tatsch?

Alex Tatsch made his official commitment to the Penn State football team on Sunday evening. They are getting a quick-rising prospect who has 4.6 speed. Tatsch is currently unranked on 247sports, but don’t let that fool you, as he is a legit prospect.

He is a four-star prospect and the No. 3 linebacker in PA, according to On3. Someone who fits Tom Allen’s scheme very well and helps keep one of the best in-state prospects home for the Nittany Lions.
