The Penn State football team already holds a commitment from one quarterback in the 2025 recruiting class. But they are looking to add additional depth and competition to the room. The Nittany Lions continue to pursue Matt Zollers, but now Zollers has picked up some national attention. After recent visits to SEC programs, Zollers returned to Penn State’s campus this past weekend.

Matt Zollers is a four-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class. According to 247Sports, he is currently ranked as the No. 1 QB in Pennsylvania for the 2025 cycle. Zollers recently completed a southern visit tour, including USF, Florida, and Georiga, at the end of January.According to On3, Zollers returned to visit the Penn State football program this weekend. James Frankin always drives the initiative that the best in PA stay in PA. He is working hard to ensure that Zollers stays in PA for his college career by bringing him back to campus after his SEC tour.

Bekkem Krizta holds steady

Bekkem Krizta is currently the lone QB commit in the 2025 recruiting class. While the Nittany Lions continue to pursue Matt Zollers, Krizta has been unwavering in terms of his commitment to Penn State.

Andy Kotelnicki likely plays a large role in this. In his system at Kansas, there were always multiple QBs involved. While it’s one of the most difficult positions to recruit, if the Nittany Lions end up landing Zollers, it will be interesting if Kritza stays true to his commitment. If Kotelnicki can sell the future vision to both prospects the Nittany Lions will have plenty of depth at QB over the upcoming years.
