If you’re looking for the biggest freak athlete in the nation ahead of this year’s NFL Draft, search no further — it’s ex-Penn State football star Chop Robinson, an edge rusher who transferred to the Nittany Lions in 2022. According to top college football insider Bruce Feldman, Robinson is the No. 1-ranked “freak” among all draftable prospects heading into this year’s draft.

After a quick stop with the Maryland Terrapins, Chop Robinson made a career-changing decision heading into the 2022 season — he transferred to Penn State football. Now, the ex-Nittany Lion superstar is heading to the NFL Draft after leading Penn State to a 21-5 record (and a Rose Bowl win) over the span of his two years in Happy Valley.

In April, the NFL Draft will send a few Penn Staters to the next level of the sport, and according to Bruce Feldman, no draft prospect nationally is more of an athletic freak than Penn State’s own Chop Robinson.

Is the ex-Nittany Lion a future first-round NFL Draft pick?

While Feldman speculates on whether or not the former Penn State football star will actually be picked in the first round, and whether he is worthy of a first-round pick, he notes that Robinson’s athletic ability is undeniably freakish — more so than any other NFL Draft prospect this year. In his latest piece for The Athletic,’ Feldman ranks the Nittany Lions’ former standout edge rusher as the country’s No. 1 freak heading into the NFL Combine and Pro Days.

During Robinson’s Penn State football playing days, he heard All-Big Ten honors from a number of outlets, was named to a plethora of major award watch lists, and was a 2023 Preseason All-American

On top of that, he was a core member of two elite Penn State defenses, which played a massive role in the Nittany Lions’ back-to-back 10+ win seasons this decade — something that James Franklin and his new-look coaching staff with undoubtedly be looking to build on throughout the coming 2024 season as the playoff expands and more.
