The Penn State football team continues to show how important this summer will be for recruiting. Many of the top players in the 2025 recruiting class who have not made their pledge will be making rounds of official visits. During this time the Nittany Lions will need to prove why they are the right choice for many of the 2025 recruiting classes’ best players. Now, the No. 1 linebacker in the cycle, Ty Jackson, has scheduled his official visit with Penn State.

Ty Jackson is a four-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class. According to On3 Jackson is the No. 1 linebacker in the cycle and the No. 16 overall prospect in 2025. The Loxahatchee, FL native stands at 6 foot 1 205 pounds and has several of the top schools interested in him.

Jackson is now at the point where he has scheduled four official visits this summer according to Chad Simmons of On3. Starting with the Penn State football team on May 31st. Then, he will head to Georiga on June 7th. He returns back home to visit Florida State on June 14th and wraps things up by visiting Tennessee on June 21st.

On Tuesday evening, Jackson trimmed his list of potential college destinations to 10 schools. Penn State was the only Big Ten program to make the cut in the list which included Georgia, Alabama, and Florida State, among others.

With Tom Allen arriving as the next defensive coordinator in Happy Valley the linebacker recruiting has taken off. On3 has all three of the Nittany Lion linebacker commits listed with a four-star ranking. That includes DJ McClary, Alex Tatsch, and Dayshaun Burnett. If Penn State can also add Ty Jackson they might have one of the strongest linebacker cores of the future.
