It appears that luck is on the side of the Penn State football team today. After an exciting afternoon when the Nittany Lions hired Andy Kotelnicki as their next offensive coordinator hours later, additional news was released. It was first reported by The Dore Report that Penn State strength and conditioning staff member Chuck Losey is close to signing a deal that would add him to the staff at Vanderbilt. But after that report was posted, it appears that James Franklin is doing everything he can to keep Losey on the staff.

Penn State football will NOT lose Chucky Losey to the SEC

There have been reports swirling around social media tonight that Chuck Losey is close to joining the staff with the Vanderbilt football team as its next strength and conditioning coach.

Many fans wonder how that is even possible, or why Losey would be interested in what appears to be a lateral move. However, Losey is a Vanderbilt graduate and spent three seasons working in the same role at Vandy.

But it appears that this report has been shut down by Chuck Losey himself. He joined the Penn State Coaches’ Show and had nothing but good things to say about the investment Penn State has made in the department.

Losey said, “The amount of things that we’re able to do in a set amount of time… We’re just able to do more with the resources we have in the weight room.” Losey joined the Coaches’ Show after the report of him heading to Vanderbilt was posted.

Lions247’s very own Tyler Donohue has also discredited the report of Losey leaving for Vanderbilt, meaning Losey will likely stay at Penn State.

It appears that the Nittany Lions have been able to retain Losey. He has been a major contributor to the weight room numbers that the Penn State football players have been able to produce. Losey is also a key staff member who helps the Nittany Lions prepare for their NFL pro day. This is definitely a major win, and someone James Franklin does not want to leave State College.
