Penn State football got a big win last night under the lights in its season opener against West Virginia. But Friday night, it was a future Nittany Lion who put on perhaps the performance of the weekend. Penn State commit Quinton Martin, who is the No. 1 player in Pennsylvania for the class of 2024, showed out on Friday night, scoring four touchdowns en route to a blowout win for Belle Vernon High School.

Penn State commit Quinton Martin has dominant performance in blowout win

Four-star prospect Quinton Martin made headlines in April when he committed to the Penn State football program. The No. 1 player in Pennsylvania for the class of 2024, Martin is the No. 4 athlete and a top 50 player in the country, according to 247Sports.

And the Penn State commit earned every bit of that ranking in high school football action on Friday night. Martin put on a dominant four-touchdown performance in Belle Vernon’s rout of Laurel Highlands to start the weekend.

On the ground, Martin had two long runs of 31 and 40 yards. He also added two short touchdown catches to his stat line as well. Belle Vernon defeated Laurel Highlands 40-0.

To cap off a stellar weekend, Martin made the trip from the Pittsburgh area to Happy Valley to watch Penn State’s victory over West Virginia last night. Martin was one of over 100 prospects inside Beaver Stadium for visits yesterday.

The list of top Penn State commits in State College last night was long, and included Liam Andrews, Cooper Cousins, Tyseer Denmark, Anthony Speca, and Mylachi Williams, among many others.

With 24 commits, Penn State football holds the 10th-best recruiting class in the country for the 2024 cycle, according to 247Sports.
