As the Pennsylvania high school football season nears its end, we’re getting our final looks at several in-state Penn State football commitments for this year. One future Nittany Lion closed the regular season with a bang on Friday night. Penn State commit Quinton Martin put up an impressive stat line on his senior night and reminded everyone why he is the No. 1 recruit in Pennsylvania for 2024.

Quinton Martin has put up multiple headline-worthy performances during this 2023 season, and Friday night was no different.

The No. 1 recruit in Pennsylvania and four-star prospect flashed his playmaking ability, racking up 206 yards from scrimmage and 4 total touchdowns as Belle Vernon High School took down previously unbeaten Elizabeth Forward 49-28 this weekend.

Martin ended the night with 4 rushes for 40 yards and a score to go with 4 receptions for 166 yards and 2 touchdowns through the air. The Penn State commit also added a 12-yard pick-6 on defense for good measure.

“It’s very emotional, but it’s exciting at the same time, because I know this team is going to go so much farther,” Martin told Steve Rotstein of the Pittsburgh Union Progress after the game. “I’m excited for it.”

Penn State football fans should be excited about the athleticism of Quinton Martin

While Friday night’s stat line from Quinton Martin is nothing short of incredible, it isn’t necessarily surprising for the No. 1 recruit in Pennsylvania for the 2024 cycle. The Penn State commit has phenomenal speed, clocking 19.1 mph on a 40-yard touchdown run in September.

Martin has put on several multi-score performances throughout this season. Friday night’s 4 touchdown game on his senior night matches a similar stat line from the season opener. Rotstein notes that Martin finished the regular season with 1,134 yards and 20 touchdowns. Phenomenal on its own, Martin racked up those yards on only 94 touches.

All told, Quinton Martin proved why he is the No. 1 recruit in Pennsylvania for the class of 2024. The Penn State commit is a consensus top 5 athlete in the 2024 cycle. The On3 Industry Rankings have Martin as the No. 55 overall prospect in the nation.
