After 243 long days, the start of Penn State football season is mere minutes away. The anticipation is at a fever pitch here inside Beaver Stadium as the Nittany Lions prepare for their primetime matchup against the West Virginia Mountaineers. Like many major programs, James Franklin and his coaches have remained tight-lipped all throughout camp about which Nittany Lions would start this evening. While some, like potential first-round draft picks Olu Fashanu, Kalen King, and Chop Robinson or sophomore superstar Abdul Carter, have been assured locks as starters, others, like the QB battle between Drew Allar and Beau Pribula, have been more up in the air.

We now know who will run out with the first team in a matter of minutes, as the official Penn State football starting lineup was just announced via the Beaver Stadium video board.

The headliner, of course, is Drew Allar, who makes his first official start as the Penn State QB. Although Franklin wouldn’t name a starter as late as Tuesday, he did note that Allar would see “starter-like reps” during Wednesday’s practice.

In the official injury report released by the program earlier this evening, it was announced that WR Omari Evans would be questionable for tonight’s game. Evans did participate in warmups. In a significant blow, DE Amin Vanover, DT Coziah Izzard, and CB Daequan Hardy were announced has being out tonight. Vanover and Izzard are a considerable loss, given that Penn State has already lost DT Alonzo Ford and DE Smith Vilbert for the season.
