Penn State football gameday central: Will Drew Allar have a bounce-back performance against Iowa?

It’s the return of one of the greatest environments in all of sports: the Penn State White Out. Penn State football returns home to the bright lights of primetime this Saturday night to take on the No. 24 Iowa Hawkeyes. Beyond the first-ranked matchup of the season for the Nittany Lions, Saturday poses an intriguing test for new starting QB Drew Allar. After two electrifying outings, Allar looked human in his first road start at Illinois last week. Will Allar be able to overcome this adversity and have a bounce-back performance against one of the best defenses in the Big Ten? We’ve got these answers and more in this week’s edition of our Penn State football gameday central.

Tailgate Talk Podcast: Will Drew Allar have a bounce-back performance this week?

Tailgate Talk is a podcast that brings together lifelong friends and Penn State fans to cover all the happenings around the Nittany Lion football program. Each week, the gang provides their honest, unfiltered, and (sometimes) wild opinions in what can only be described as tailgate talk.

In this week’s episode, the Tailgate Talk gang recaps their road trip to Champaign to watch Penn State take on the Fighting Illini. It wasn’t the sharpest performance from Drew Allar or the Penn State offense last week against Illinois. Allar said all the right things after the game, but will he be able to rebound against an Iowa defense that is near the top of the Big Ten in most major statistical categories?

In their “Last Call” segment, the guys debate whether or not Allar will throw for at least 2 touchdowns against the Hawkeyes. This task won’t be easy with a stingy Iowa defense or the expected poor weather conditions expected to roll into Happy Valley Saturday night. In addition, Matt, Trent, and Kyle talk the Penn State White Out, Deion Sanders and Colorado, and provide their gambling locks for Week 4 college football action!
