On Friday, Penn State football fans got at new look at the Nittany Lions’ rising sophomore quarterback. Drew Allar, who will be Penn State’s QB1 this year, is looking fantastic in some new spring throwing drill tape that was released this afternoon.

The hype surrounding Penn State’s Drew Allar heading into the 2023 season is unreal — despite never having a single start in his college career, Allar is listed among some of the top favorites to win the Heisman Trophy. Allar — who was the nation’s No. 1 recruit in his class — has a massive 6-5, 242 pound frame and threw for 344 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions as the Nittany Lions’ backup QB a season ago.

Now, as Penn State football’s head man, Allar looks to let the 2022 season’s success build into an even better year in 2023. This new film of Allar makes us think that we could be in store for some incredible offensive highlights in a few months:

Drew Allar, Penn State offense have the tools to be successful

Throughout the 2022 season, despite being the backup QB, Drew Allar showcased the raw talent to be an elite-tier quarterback. With an incredible RB duo (Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen), a transfer portal-infused receiving corps, an improved offensive line room, and more, this year’s Penn State football offense could be the best we have seen during the James Franklin era.
