Penn State football recruiting is truly heating up in the 2024 recruiting class. Wednesday evening, James Franklin added a new elite addition to this class by flipping four-star Oregon wide receiver Tyseer Denmark, who is currently considered one of the top recruits in the 2024 cycle. This is a massive pick-up for the Nittany Lions, who continue to strengthen their future rosters through excellent high school recruiting.

Penn State football recruiting flips four-star Oregon commit, adds elite offensive weapon

Today, Penn State football flipped top-ranked four-star wide receiver Tyseer Denmark, who had previously been committed to the Oregon Ducks. Earlier this year, the Ducks beat Penn State to secure the commitment of top-ranked quarterback Michael Van Buren, which seemingly prompted the Lions to secure current QB commit Ethan Grunkemeyer from Ohio.

Grunkemeyer is proving to be one of the top recruits in the 2024 class, as demonstrated by his impressive performance in the Elite 11 finals last week. Today, a new weapon was added to Grunkemeyer’s arsenal for the coming years.

According to the 247 Sports rankings, Denmark is a four-star wide receiver from Philadelphia, PA. Sunday morning, crystal balls started to roll in for the Nittany Lions to flip his commitment. By the end of the day Sunday, Denmark decommitted and has now officially pledged to the Blue and White less than a week later.

Denmark’s high school coach, Roman Catholic’s Richard Prete, has been extremely outspoken regarding the four-star’s potential. Prete told the Philadelphia Inquirer last fall that he believed Denmark was a “generational” talent. Prete certainly has a list of star wideouts to compare Denmark to, given that Roman Catholic has seen the likes of Will Fuller and Marvin Harrison pass through its halls.

With this new commitment, Penn State football is gaining the No. 227 recruit in the nation, the No. 33 wide receiver in the class, and the No. 3 recruit in the state of Pennsylvania.
