Over the weekend, the 2024 Penn State football recruiting class broke into the top 5 nationally; right now, per the composite rankings, the Nittany Lions’ class ranks No. 5 nationally, still trailing Michigan (2) and Ohio State (3) just two weeks into official visit season. This weekend, James Franklin may add a new commit to the Nittany Lions’ class as the Blue and White are presently trending to land in-state wide receiver Peter Gonzalez, who is scheduled to be in Happy Valley shortly.

Penn State football is trending to land an in-state wide receiver who will be in State College for an official visit this weekend. Here is what you need to know.

This weekend, Penn State football will be hosting three-star in-state wide receiver Peter Gonzalez, a rising target out of Central Catholic High School. Being a Pennsylvania recruit, fans can rest assured knowing that James Franklin will have his best recruiting pitch in store for Gonzolas this weekend.

Ahead of his official visit with the Blue and White, Peter Gonzalez is trending heavily to wind up with Penn State football all said and done. Recently, a new insider prediction was logged (per ON3) in favor of Penn State to land this 6-foot-2, 200-pound wide receiver.

According to the ON3 rankings, Peter Gonzalez is a three-star in-state wide receiver target for Penn State football, and has a 88.3% chance of landing with the Nittany Lions all said and done. Right now, he is pinned as the No. 147 wide receiver in the 2024 recruiting class, and the No. 33 recruit in the state of Pennsylvania.

If Peter Gonzalez commits to Penn State football soon, he may become the Nittany Lions’ 18th hard commit in the class and yet another offensive weapon for Ohio QB commit Ethan Grunkemeyer.
