The 2024 Penn State football recruiting class is in good shape right now. The foundation for a great class is there, but a few key pieces are still missing from James Franklin’s 7th-ranked class. One of these pieces is an elite wide receiver to pair with newly committed quarterback Ethan Grunkemeyer of Ohio. Today, the Nittany Lions received some great recruiting news as a new insider prediction was made for Penn State to land elite four-star wide receiver Nick Marsh, a top 100 recruit nationally and a top 3 recruit in MI.

Penn State football trending for four-star wide receiver Nick Marsh

Nick Marsh has been one of the top recruiting targets for Jim Harbaugh, Mel Tucker, James Franklin, and many others for quite some time. With today’s news, it appears that Penn State football is starting to close in and could secure a new top commitment later this month.

Marsh is a four-star wide receiver from River Rouge High School in Michigan, right in Jim Harbaugh’s backyard. However, recent efforts from the Penn State coaching staff seem to be paying off as the Nittany Lions are now considered the clear frontrunners for his commitment.

Landing Marsh would be massive for the 2024 Penn State football recruiting class for several reasons. First, Marsh would come in as one of the top-ranked recruits in the class and could boost Penn State back into the top 5. Additionally, the Lions desperately need a big-bodied wideout in this class, and Nick Marsh fits the bill perfectly, standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing around 200 pounds.

“The environment, the stadium, everything surrounding Penn State seems like a place I could thrive at,” he said, according to ON3.

According to industry rankings, Marsh is a four-star wide receiver and a top-100 recruit in the 2024 class. He has been ranked as the No. 86 recruit in the nation, the No. 15 wide receiver in the class, and the No. 3 recruit in the state of Michigan. With today’s new insider prediction favoring the Nittany Lions, Penn State football has taken a significant lead in the Recruiting Prediction Machine, now boasting favorable odds of 79.4%, far ahead of the second-leading team, Michigan State, who has an 8.8% chance.
