On Friday, Jaylan Hornsby announced that he will be back in Happy Valley on April 7th for his third visit with Penn State football. The top 5 New Jersey recruit is a top 300 recruit in the 2024 class and a major four-star wide receiver prospect for a number of other Big Ten schools.

Jaylan Hornsby — a four-star wideout prospect and top 5 New Jersey recruit — is favored to land at either Penn State or Rutgers, according to On3. The Nittany Lions are in the running and a major player in his recruitment, coming in second right now; however, On3 lists Rutgers as the leading school to land him with a 50.3% chance (compared to Penn State’s 18.1% chance).

Hornsby is ranked as the No. 275 player in his class (2024), the No. 46 receiver, and the No. 4 player in New Jersey. Additionally, Jaylan Hornsby is being recruited by a number of schools, though he has only visited five thus far: Rutgers (5), Penn State (2), Syracuse (1), Illinois (1), and Pitt (1). Aside from Rutgers — his home state school — Penn State is the only program that has gotten more than one visit to this point.

Jaylan Hornsby stands at 6-2 and weighs in around 195 pounds — he attends Camden High School in Camden, NJ, about six minutes away from Rutgers University. Here is his tweet from earlier today announcing his new visit date to State College:
