Quarterback is a position that you have to have a clear plan for the future in college football. The Penn State football team has stacked talent where they are set for many years to come. But that search is forever ongoing, especially in today’s era of the sport. Next season the Nittany Lions will have Drew Allar, Beau Pribula, Jaxon Smolik, and Ethan Grunkemeyer as scholarship quarterbacks on the roster. But in 2025 things will get interesting. That is also where 2025 recruiting class member Matt Zollers will have a decision to make to stay home and possibly play for Penn State. That could become more clear soon as Zollers has now been confirmed for a visit to State College next weekend.

Matt Zollers is a four-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class, according to 247sports. He is from Royersford, PA, and currently attends Spring-Ford High School. He is the No. 6 player in PA in 2025 and the No. 1 quarterback in the state.

Matt Zollers currently holds offers from Michigan State, Pittsburgh, Temple, and Syracuse. Then in November, he landed an offer from the Penn State football team.

It was confirmed by Steve Wilfong of 247sports that Zollers will be on campus next weekend at Penn State. This will give him a chance to speak with offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki and understand his vision for the future.

The 2025 recruiting class

Thankfully for the Nittany Lions, they do already have one quarterback commit from Bekkem Krizta in the 2025 recruiting class. He is currently ranked as the No. 1 player in Colorado in the 2025 cycle.

But to keep one of your own in-state is always the ultimate goal for James Franklin, and he has an opportunity to do just that. Currently, the Nittany Lions hold the No. 9 class in the nation with 7 hard commits.
