The Penn State football team continues to search for additional wide receiver talent. While the Nittany Lions have made an addition with Julian Fleming and have lost Dante Cephas to the transfer portal, they still need more weapons for Drew Allar. One of those potential weapons was FAU transfer Lajohntay Wester who had an outstanding 2023 season. However, he committed to Deion Sanders and Colorado over Penn State.

Lajohntay Wester was listed as the No. 38 wide receiver in the transfer portal, according to 247sports. You might be thinking did Penn State miss on anything if he was ranked so low? However, one thing you cannot deny is his production on the field.

In 2023, Wester accounted for 108 receptions for 1,168 yards and 8 touchdowns. He was by far one of the most productive players in the transfer portal. However, he ended up committing to Deion Sanders and Colorado over Penn State and Baylor.

Where do the Nittany Lions go from here?

There aren’t a lot of productive players left in the transfer portal at this time for Penn State football to target. One player they might attempt to reconnect with is former USC wide receiver Dorian Singer who the Nittany Lions offered during his first go around in the transfer portal. They also might wait until spring ball is over, and that second window opens to sift through the talent at that time.
