The 2024 Penn State football recruiting class had been in need of a quarterback commit for a considerable period, and last weekend, the Nittany Lions secured just that. Ethan Grunkemeyer, an often overlooked quarterback in the class, made his commitment to Penn State last Saturday. The following day, he showcased his talent at the Elite 11 semi-finals held in State College.

Now, Penn State’s newly acquired quarterback commit will compete in the Elite 11 finals in LA alongside some of the country’s top quarterbacks.

The Elite 11 finals currently feature 13 quarterbacks still in contention, including some of the nation’s finest, such as Dylan Raiola, Air Noland, CJ Carr, and others. While numerous four and five-star quarterbacks are participating in the finals, Ethan Grunkemeyer, a three-star commit for Penn State football, has also made the cut and was recently named 247 Sports’ ‘Recruit of the Week.’

Grunkemeyer is widely regarded as one of the most underrated players in the 2024 recruiting class. While he may currently hold a three-star rating, similar to Drew Allar, it is expected that he will rise significantly in the class rankings during his senior year re-evaluation.

Grunkemeyer possesses exceptional arm strength, mobility, and is considered one of the most naturally gifted passers in his class.

Apart from being a three-star commit, Grunkemeyer shares several notable similarities with his fellow Nittany Lion. Both players exhibit impressive arm talent, share the same quarterbacks coach, and hail from Ohio, their home state.

Grunkemeyer’s inclusion in the Elite 11 finals is undoubtedly a promising sign for the future of Penn State football. While he may currently be a three-star commit, it is likely that his stock will continue to rise, potentially making him a coveted gem in this recruiting class.
