The Nittany Lions’ newest class is starting to really come together as of late. Today, Penn State football landed another offensive lineman, which shot the team’s 2024 recruiting class up to No. 5 nationally with 12 hard commits thus far (7 four-star and 5 three-star per 247 Sports Composite). Today, two more Penn State football offers were sent out to a pair of highly sought-after recruits — one four-star and one five-star in the 2024 and 2025 recruiting class.

Penn State football offer extended to five-star lineman Josh Petty

On Tuesday evening, Josh Petty — a five-star lineman in the 2025 recruiting class — announced that he has received a Penn State football offer. Over the past few weeks, the Nittany Lions have been hitting the offensive line recruiting trail hard; in the 2024 recruiting class alone, Penn State has grabbed three top-60 O-linemen and counting.

Josh Petty could become a massive haul for Penn State. Petty is a 6-foot-4, 265-pound offensive lineman out of Fellowship Christian School in Georgia. According to the 247 Sports Composite rankings, Petty is a composite five-star offensive tackle in the 2025 recruiting class and is ranked as the No. 13 recruit in the class, the No. 2 offensive tackle, and the No. 4 recruit in GA.

Nittany Lions offer four-star quarterback Trever Jackson out of Florida

Along with five-star tackle Josh Petty, a new Penn State football offer was extended to On3 four-star quarterback Trever Jackson out of West Orange High School in Florida. Jackson is a member of the 2024 recruiting class, and with Michael Van Buren’s recruitment in question (Oregon is making a huge push right now), targeting new quarterbacks in the 2024 class is essential for the Nittany Lions.

According to the On3 rankings, Jackson is a four-star QB target, standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing in at 185 pounds heading into his senior year of high school. Despite being a Florida target, Jackson has a good amount of midwestern interest — programs like Illinois and Pitt have already offered him. However, to be honest, Penn State football is the most successful program to extend a scholarship offer thus far. Texas A&M is also up there.

According to On3, Jackson is a four-star quarterback and is ranked as the No. 16 quarterback in the 2024 recruiting class and No. 36 recruit in Florida.

Nittany Lions 2024 and 2025 classes are both top-5 nationally

According to the 247 Sports Composite rankings, Penn State football has a top-5 recruiting class for both 2024 and 2025. As of Tuesday evening, the 2024 recruiting class ranks No. 5 nationally with 12 commits so far. The 2025 recruiting class comes in at No. 3 with three hard commits thus far.
