As the season progresses, high school football players begin to make more decisions. Now, the Penn State football team is the favorite to land this dynamic player from Pennsylvania. As many in the Penn State community would say the best in PA stay in PA. The 2025 recruiting class took a hit last week when Jaelyne Matthews decided to de-commit from the Nittany Lions. However, the class might gain more strength with the addition of Tiqwai Hayes.

On Tuesday morning 247sports National Recruiting Analyst Brian Dohn placed a new crystal ball. That crystal ball was placed for running back Tiqwai Hayes to land at Penn State with a confidence level of 6. Hayes is a 4-star recruit according to 247sports and he is from Aliquippa, PA. He had 2011 rushing yards and 33 touchdowns during his sophomore season in 2022.

Hayes visited Penn State the weekend of the West Virginia game and he holds offers from Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, and several other schools. He would join current Penn State commit KeAndrea Barker as the other running back in the 2025 recruiting class.

Commitment coming Monday

We won’t have to wait long to learn what decision Tiqwai Hayes will make. He has set his commitment date for Monday, September 25th at 3:30 PM. He will choose between Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Ohio State, Michigan, West Virginia, Maryland, Michigan State, and Penn State. Be sure to stay tuned to Basic Blues Nation for an update on Hayes’ decision next week.
