James Franklin and the Penn State football staff have been delivering a persuasive final message in the closing weeks of the 2025 recruiting cycle, flipping multiple top targets over the last two and a half months. But the Nittany Lions are getting more competition for one of the premier prospects in the Keystone State, as Notre Dame is now the latest program to lock in a gameday visit with Southern Lehigh tight end and Michigan commit Andrew Olesh.

On Wednesday, it was reported that Olesh will travel to South Bend to watch the Fighting Irish take on Florida State on November 9. The trip will be the four-star’s first to Notre Dame.

Andrew Olesh committed to Michigan in July after a long, hard-fought recruiting battle with Penn State football. According to On3, the 6-5, 215-pound tight end has visited Happy Valley nine times, more than any other school.

And evidently, the Southern Lehigh standout is soon set to make his 10th visit with the Nittany Lions. According to the reporting of Adam Gorney of Rivals earlier in the week, Olesh is set to travel to Penn State for next week’s matchup with the Ohio State Buckeyes.

The No. 47 player in the country, Olesh is the cycle’s third-ranked tight end and the new top-rated player in Pennsylvania for the 2025 recruiting class, per 247Sports.

Franklin and Penn State football have flipped three prospects since the start of August. The Nittany Lions are also currently predicted to flip five-star cornerback Brandon Finney from Oregon.
