After another wild weekend of college football, the next edition of the AP Top 25 poll is here. The Penn State football team handled its business against the Delaware Blue Hens after a 63-7 victory yesterday afternoon. But around the country, there was some chaos. This has caused the Nittany Lions to be jumped in the AP Poll.

Penn State football stays put in the AP Poll

The newest edition of the AP Top 25 poll has the Penn State football team ranked 7th overall. The Nittany Lions have been jumped by Texas in the rankings as the Texas Longhorns defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide Saturday night. Texas, of course, has jumped Penn State, however, this gave the Nittany Lions an opportunity to jump Alabama, which they did.

This is just the beginning of some of the chaos that we will see throughout the college football season in 2023. But, Texas and Florida State have proven to be serious contenders early on this season. Penn State hopes to strengthen its argument as they take on Illinois this upcoming Saturday. That game will be part of FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff.

Lawnboyz made a statement against Delaware

After watching Penn State dominate the competition with a strong performance against Delaware, it’s safe to say the Lawnboyz are back. The Lawnboyz is the nickname for the Penn State football running backs and they had a great day against the Blue Hens.

Led by Kaytron Allen, who went over the 1,000 career rushing mark in the 3rd quarter yesterday. Allen finished the game with 104 rushing yards and one touchdown. Nick Singleton added 47 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Trey Potts also added 59 yards on the ground.

The quarterbacks had their part in the rushing attack as well. Drew Allar had 27 rushing yards and a touchdown. Beau Pribula added his own 46 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. The Nittany Lions dominated the line of scrimmage and never looked back.
