On the penultimate weekend before early National Signing Day, top 2025 Penn State football commit Jayden Woods was taking in the action on another campus. The four-star Mill Valley (KS) edge rusher spent the weekend in Gainesville on an official visit with the Florida Gators.

Both On3 and 247Sports have now confirmed the official visit. The weekend was Woods’ first trip to Florida, where he picked up an offer from the Gators staff last November.

Woods chose Penn State football over Wisconsin, Purdue, and Tennessee in June.

Ranked as the No. 7 edge rusher and the No. 75 overall prospect in the cycle by 247Sports, Jayden Woods is the Nittany Lions’ top commitment in the 2025 recruiting class. He’s the second-highest-ranked pledge in the On3 Industry Rankings, behind New Jersey offensive lineman Malachi Goodman.

The early National Signing Period begins in ten days, on Wednesday, December 4, and will run through Friday, December 6.

“So, you know, even Signing Day is going to be different,” James Franklin said last week of recruiting around a potential home first-round playoff game this December. “Like, we’re going to have Signing Day, and typically, it’s the whole staff. It’s going to be me and the recruiting staff [this year], and the rest of the coaches are going to be doing the game planning and doing all those types of things.

“So we do take some time every single week where myself and those guys will organize it, and then we’ll include the coaches in the part of the conversation that they need to be a part of. But, [we] have it already organized and ready to go, so we’re being as efficient as possible.”
