The Penn State football team continues to push and build the 2025 recruiting class. While following the Blue-White Game the Nittany Lions did not secure any direct commitments that will likely change heading into the summer. Over the next few months, Penn State will host several players on official visits which will swing momentum in their favor. Now, former Michigan commit Chris Ewald has released his final six schools which included Penn State.

Chris Ewald is a four-star defensive back prospect in the 2025 recruiting class according to the On3 Industry Ranking. A native of Hollywood, (FL.) Ewald stands at 5-11 165 pounds. He has had an interesting recruiting journey so far as he was a one-time Michigan commit.

Ewald made his commitment to Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines on December 16th, 2022. Then, he stayed committed to the Michigan staff until January 15th, 2024. Following the 2023 National Championship, the Wolverines lost key staff members such as head coach Jim Harbaugh and defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald.

Now, with his recruitment re-opened, the Penn State football team is closing in on Ewald. On Monday, he released his top six schools which included Miami, Auburn, Georiga, Louisville, Tennessee, and Penn State. He will be in Happy Valley on June 21st for his official visit which could swing the momentum in favor of the Nittany Lions.

2025 recruiting class for Penn State

We’ve seen James Franklin and Terry Smith dip into the transfer portal to restock defensive backs over the past few seasons. The latest are AJ Harris and Jalen Kimber both coming from the SEC. In the 2025 recruiting class, Penn State has one defensive back commit Xxavier Thomas from Pittsburgh, PA. The three-star prospect made his commitment on December 21st, 2023.

The latest 2025 recruiting class commit for the Nittany Lions was four-star running back Alvin Henderson who made his pledge on April 11th. Now, Penn State looks to bulk up the recruiting efforts over the next two months with several uncommitted prospects taking their official visits to Happy Valley.
