Nothing beats the bye week if you are a fan of Penn State football. No stress, you can watch every college football game, and on top of all of that Penn State’s ranking might improve without playing a snap. As week 6 of the college football season three of the AP Top 10 teams sat idle, including Penn State, Oregon, and Washington. Now, the latest edition of the AP Poll has been released after yesterday’s chaos, where did the Nittany Lions end up?

As the Penn State football fan base watched chaos unfolding around the country. Starting with the Red River Rivalry game between Oklahoma and Texas. At one point in the season, there was a good argument that Texas was the best team in the country, but they were not able to take care of business against their rival Oklahoma. As the No. 3 ranked Longhorns fell to the No. 12 ranked Sooners 34-30. Because of this result, Texas fell to No. 9 and Oklahoma climbed the AP Poll to the No 5.

Entering week 7 of the college football season Penn State is officially the No. 6 school in the AP Poll, with Georiga, Michigan, Ohio State, Florida State, and now Oklahoma ahead of them in the ranking. The Nittany Lions will get their chance at both Ohio State and Michigan over the next several weeks, if they win both of those games their ranking could skyrocket.

Week 7 of college football

The biggest clash of the weekend takes place in Seattle, Washington as the Huskies welcome the Oregon Ducks to a top 10 battle. These future members of the Big Ten could jump into the AP top 5 next week if one team dominates the other. College Gameday will be there for this matchup which could be the game of the season. If Penn State wants to go to the College Football Playoff, their opponent could be one of these two teams.
