The Penn State football team has been stacking up recruits in the 2025 recruiting class. In the 2025 cycle, the Nittany Lions currently have the No. 5 class in the country. But by no means is James Franklin and his coaching staff satisfied with the results so far. Now, the Nittany Lions are zeroing in on Trent Wilson a defensive line prospect who is down to his final four schools. Now, just days ahead of his next Penn State visit Wilson has been predicted to land with this SEC newcomer. Will the Nittany Lions be able to sway momentum back their way once he is on campus?

Trent Wilson is a four-star defensive lineman according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He is the No. 1 player in Maryland and the No. 9 defensive lineman in the 2025 recruiting class. On3 also has him listed as the No. 94 player in the country so this is a prospect the Penn State football team needs to secure.

Now, Chad Simmons of On3 has confirmed that Wilson is down to his final four college choices. Which includes Penn State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M. The Nittany Lions have recruited the Maryland areas well over years past. Hopefully, with a strong relationship already built with Wilson, Penn State can use this upcoming visit to potentially seal the deal.

Simmons has logged a new RPM on Tuesday that predicts Wilson to land at Oklahoma. It’s important to note that Wilson has only completed one visit with the Sooners and six so far with the Nittany Lions. But when will Wilson return to Happy Valley again?

James Franklin will need to make a final push for the four-star prospect to secure him as a member of the 2025 recruiting class. Chad Simmons picked up additional information on Wilson. He will make his next appearance in Happy Valley on April 13th for a visit during the Blue-White game.

Wilson also shared with On3 what separates the Nittany Lions from the other schools.

Wilson stated, “The people stand out. The people at Penn State are genuine. I always feel at home at Penn State, so I know if I went there, I would feel comfortable.”
