The next round of the 2024 recruiting rankings has officially been released by 247sports. The Penn State football team had several commits that earned a boost in ranking, but Luke Reynolds’ increase was huge. Reynolds is a player who was very under the radar earlier this spring, but after shining in several camps, he quickly rose. What helped him arguably the most was his performance at the Elite 11 Finals in front of several top scouts. The Nittany Lions coaching staff found a gem in this future Penn State player, who tonight became a 5-star prospect.

Penn State commit Luke Reynolds is now a 5-star prospect

Luke Reynolds started 2023 as a three-star tight-end prospect searching for a future school. He made his commitment to Penn State on March 25th, and then things started to take off. After several strong camps, he earned his fourth star and became a top-300 player nationally. But his rise in the 2024 recruiting class didn’t stop there. In fact, it continued to skyrocket.

On Thursday night Luke Reynolds earned his fifth-star, making him the lone five-star recruit in the 2024 recruiting class for Penn State. On top of that, he is also listed as the No.1 tight end in the 2024 recruiting class, according to 247sports. Brian Dohn has described Reynolds as someone who, “Has all the physical traits to be an outstanding college player, and given his inexperience at the the tight end position, there is a high ceiling and a lot of room for development. Verified frame measurables with impressive strong speed markers as well as burst.”

The Penn State football coaching staff did a tremendous job finding Reynolds early in the recruiting process. The Nittany Lions have a future star in the making on their hands.
