The Penn State football team is looking to stack multiple recruiting classes with plenty of talent. Next Wednesday the Nittany Lions will welcome in a new group of commitments during early national signing day. But the work doesn’t stop there. James Franklin and his team are looking to also add to the 2025 recruiting class. One of those additions could be Elijah Melendez, who has just released his final list of college choices.

Elijah Melendez is a four-star linebacker from Kissimmee, Florida, in the 2025 recruiting class. He attends Osceola High School and is currently listed as a top 25 linebacker in the country, according to 247Sports.

The Penn State football team offered him in October of 2023, but they’ve made a tremendous relationship with Melendez as he listed the Nittany Lions in his top eight schools. His final schools include Penn State, Ohio State, Alabama, Miami, Michigan, Georgia, Colorado, and USC.

Not every great story starts from a scholarship player. James Franklin and his coaching staff have to fill the roster with preferred walk-ons as well. Earlier this week, the Nittany Lions added Beckkham Dee to the 2024 class.

Beckham Dee is a 2024 linebacker from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He played his high school football at Mt.Lebanon High School, a place that the Penn State football team has become very familiar with. Dee started his career under head head Bob Palko who is now the director of high school player relations for Penn State.
