The Penn State wide receiver room could use some depth ahead of summer ball. Luckily for Penn State football, the spring transfer portal window is here, and the Nittany Lions have a few options to choose from. Last week, former 4-star SEC wideout Xzavier Henderson — who was one of the best receivers in the 2020 recruiting class — entered the portal and could be a target for Penn State.

Could 4-star SEC wideout Xzavier Henderson be a new transfer portal target for Penn State football?

As a high school recruit, Xzavier Henderson was rated as a 4-star wideout by the 247 Sports Composite and was ranked as the No. 68 recruit in the nation, the No. 12 wide receiver in the class, and the No. 14 recruit in the state of Florida. Henderson has seen a great deal of college success as well throughout his three years of football with the University of Florida — especially in the classroom.

As a college wide receiver, Xzavier Henderson earned SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll (2020) and was a two-time SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll (2021-22). On the field, Henderson appeared in 35 games making 73 catches for 835 yards and five touchdowns. His 6-foot-3, 200-pound frame — matched with immense talent and SEC experience — is exactly what Penn State football is looking to add to its receiving corps right now. With his name hitting the portal this weekend, keep an eye on what the Nittany Lions do regarding his recruitment.
