The 2025 Penn State football recruiting class currently ranks among the top-3 best classes nationally. Earlier today, Penn State added a new recruit to its target list: four-star defensive lineman London Merritt out of Woodward Academy in Atlanta, GA.

The 2025 recruiting target list for the Nittany Lions is impressively long, as Penn State football is actively pursuing some of the best high school football players in the country, and their efforts have resulted in successful recruitment in many cases. The latest addition to their target board is London Merritt, a highly sought-after defensive line prospect from Georgia.

Recently, James Franklin has been making full use of his SEC pipeline, which he established during his successful stint at Vanderbilt. Penn State has been actively offering scholarships to prospects from Tennessee, with last week seeing offers extended to a trio of them. Additionally, a highly-regarded SEC quarterback recruit has also shown interest in visiting the university. Penn State continued their active recruitment by offering a scholarship to four-star defensive line prospect, London Merritt, today.

This could be a major addition to the 20235 recruiting class

Merritt is an exceptional football talent, boasting a rare blend of strength, speed, and agility that make him an imposing force on the field. As a composite four-star defensive lineman, he has already established himself as one of the top 65 recruits in the nation for the 2025 recruiting class, an achievement that is a testament to his impressive abilities.

Moreover, Merritt’s remarkable on-field performance is backed by his impressive rankings as the No. 8 EDGE player nationally and the No. 13 recruit in the state of Georgia. Penn State football recruiters have taken notice of his exceptional talent and are eager to add him to their roster of top-tier players.

With Penn State football recruiting on the rise in states like Wisconsin and some SEC territory, Merritt’s potential impact on the team cannot be overstated. He is a name that Penn State fans will want to keep a close eye on, as his exceptional skills and talent are poised to have a significant impact on the team’s future success.
