Today, a new Penn State football recruiting offer was extended to 2026 in-state quarterback Semaj Beals. While the Nittany Lions are still looking for their first quarterback commitment in the 2024 and 2025 classes right now, it’s never too early to add a young up-and-comer to the big board, which is precisely what the Nittany Lions have done.

Since his arrival in State College in 2014, Penn State football head coach James Franklin has prioritized in-state and regional recruiting as a key component of the team’s overall recruitment strategy. Today, the Nittany Lions made a significant move by extending an offer to Semaj Beals, an impressive sophomore quarterback from Romas Catholic High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Standing at 6 feet tall and weighing 160 pounds, Beals has already captured considerable attention on the recruiting scene despite his young age. With several solid regional Power Five offers already in his portfolio, Penn State’s offer stands as his latest and most prestigious one to date.

Aside from Penn State, other notable institutions such as West Virginia, Maryland, Boston College, Duke, Pitt, Virginia Tech, and more have also expressed their interest in the talented in-state quarterback.

Penn State’s early involvement in the recruitment process bodes well for their future prospects as the 2026 class takes center stage. While it is still too early to determine the final destinations of these rising quarterback targets, some of them have expressed an interest in the Nittany Lions program. Penn State’s proactive approach positions them favorably as they compete for top talent in the coming years.
