Penn State football: Drew Allar projected to stay in PA in way-too-early 2025 NFL Mock Draft

Entering the 2024 season, there is a lot of pressure on the Penn State football team. This is the year of the expanded College Football Playoff, where the Nittany Lions are supposed to take the next step. On top of that, a new offensive coordinator, Andy Kotelnicki, has been brought in to elevate play-calling and help Drew Allar reach his full potential as a future first-round NFL Draft pick. While the page may have just been turned on the 2024 Draft, some are already looking ahead to next spring, and they don’t see Allar moving very far from Happy Valley. New way-too-early 2025 NFL Mock Drafts have the Nittany Lions QB staying in Pennsylvania and going to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round.

While some might not fully believe in Penn State football QB Drew Allar and his NFL potential it’s evident that his decision-making and size make him an NFL target. The former No. 1 QB in the 2022 recruiting class had an underrated debut season. Allar threw for over 2600 yards and 25 touchdowns against 2 interceptions in his first year as a full-time starter.

Now, in their Way Too Early 2025 Mock Draft, The 33rd Team has Drew Allar being selected in the 1st round of the 2025 NFL Draft. But Allar isn’t going far as they predict he will be selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers 19th overall.

While the Steelers have signed Russell Wilson and Justin Fields this offseason, the desire to find the quarterback of the future is constant. Allar will have a decision to make at the end of the 2024 season whether he wants to return for his senior season or declare for the NFL Draft. However, if he received a Senior Bowl invite that could take his draft stock to the next level.

The Senior Bowl has created dozens of opportunities for players to gain NFL exposure. Ahead of the NFL Draft players have the opportunity to compete against the best and improve their draft stock. Recently, one of the changes made to the Senior Bowl was allowing non-seniors who are draft-eligible to compete down in Mobile, AL.

With the 2024 NFL Draft in the books, Jim Nagy, the Executive Director of the Senior Bowl, has dropped 12 power-four quarterbacks he is keeping an eye on that could be invited to Mobile next season. He included Riley Leonard, Carson Beck, Kyle McCord, Max Brosmer, Graham Mertz, Card Hudson, Jalen Milroe, Jaxon Dart, Cam Ward, Jalon Daniels, Quinn Ewers, Shedeur Sanders, Donovan Smith, Dillon Gabriel, D.J. Uiagalelei, Will Howard, Tyler Van Dyke, and Drew Allar.

With 2024 Draft now in rearview and two @seniorbowl QB's going in top-12, here's some P4 names (in no particular order) who'll be in mix for trip to Mobile next year.

While the Penn State football QB enters his junior year in 2024 he does not have to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft, however, that has not stopped scouts from already projecting him as a potential first-round pick.
