There’s some new, yet familiar, competition now in the mix for one of the top targets for Penn State football in the class of 2027. This week, four-star Coatesville (PA) offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller added an offer from former Nittany Lions defensive coordinator Manny Diaz and Duke.
The Blue Devils are the latest in a growing list of programs showing interest in the 2027 prospect. Hiller has added eight offers since the start of 2025, including from USC, Miami, Florida State, and Tennessee. According to 247Sports, he now holds 21 offers, 20 of which come from power conference programs.
A potential five-star, Hiller is already among the most coveted players in the 2027 recruiting cycle. In the updated 2027 rankings from 247Sports, Hiller is rated as the top player in Pennsylvania and the No. 17 prospect in the country. On3 ranks the Coatesville lineman as the No. 19 player nationally and the No. 2 recruit in the state, right behind Penn State football commit Kemon Spell.
Hiller visited Happy Valley twice in November. Coming off his White Out visit, On3’s Steve Wiltfong logged a prediction for the 6-5, 300-pound lineman to commit to the Nittany Lions.
Penn State football is one of only three schools with commitments in the 2027 cycle, with pledges from Spell and Delaware offensive lineman Layton von Brandt.
