Penn State football is looking for its signature win of the 2023 season as it takes on Michigan inside Beaver Stadium today. Overshadowed in the last 24 hours by the off-field drama surrounding Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan football program, this game between the No. 10 Nittany Lions and No. 3 Wolverines still has the potential to be one of the best of the college football season. One of the biggest storylines in Happy Valley this week was the potential return of star Chop Robinson, who has been absent since leaving the Ohio State game with an injury.

The buzz all week was that the star Penn State defender could be back, but will he play today against Michigan? The Week 11 injury report just released by Penn State tells us what to expect.

New in 2023, the Big Ten mandates each team submit an injury report for release two hours before kickoff each week. Below are the Penn State football players listed for this week’s matchup with Michigan:

Chop Robinson returned to practice this week

Without one of its star defenders, Penn State football put together an inspired performance last week against Maryland, driving the Terrapins back for -49 rushing yards on the day.

While the Nittany Lions were playing for him last weekend, it goes without saying that Penn State would be much better served with Chop Robinson back in the lineup today. On Monday, Penn State football coach James Franklin noted that he was “hopeful” to have Robinson and fellow DE Amin Vanover back against Michigan. Both players left the Ohio State game due to injury.

On Wednesday, we saw Robinson back on the practice field for the first time in over two weeks. “I think I said that to you guys on Monday that we are hopeful that he will be ready to go,” Franklin said of his star defender following Wednesday’s practice, noting that Robinson looked “good” during the Sunday and Monday practice sessions this week.

Kickoff between Michigan football and Penn State is set for noon today. The game will be aired on FOX.
