Some serious star power is now being recruited to help boost the Heisman Trophy campaign of Penn State football star tight end Tyler Warren. This week, the Nittany Lions produced a promotional video featuring future NFL Hall of Fame tight end Rob Gronkowski aimed at getting Warren to New York City for next month’s award ceremony.
The video, released on the Penn State football social media platforms, is cut from a longer segment Gronkowski recorded on Warren for College Football on FOX earlier in November.
“Now you’re [Warren] getting to do things even I was never allowed to do,” Gronkowski said. “This guy snapped the ball and caught a touchdown on the same play. Are you kidding me? Why didn’t Tom [Brady] ever call that play for me?”
The social media clip ends with former Notre Dame All-American offensive tackle and current CBS analyst Aaron Taylor stumping for Warren to earn an invitation to the Big Apple in December.
“It was a long journey, and when I first got here, it wasn’t something [that] I would see myself being a starting tight end at Penn State,” Tyler Warren said in the full video on FOX. “And I’m glad that this has been my journey, and I wouldn’t change how it’s gone.”

According to FOX Sports, Warren is not listed among the top 15 in Heisman Trophy odds. Colorado’s Travis Hunter is the runaway favorite with -800 odds, followed by Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty at +650.
Through 11 games, Warren has a team-best 75 receptions for 910 yards and five touchdowns. He also has 18 rushes for 157 yards with four scores and 26 passing yards with one touchdown. The senior is currently a Paul Hornung Award finalist, John Mackey Award semifinalist, and Walter Camp Player of the Year semifinalist.

“You know, with that catch, he has a chance to score and be the all-time leading scorer in Penn State history at the tight end position, and he falls down at the one-yard line,” James Franklin said Monday of the Nittany Lions’ final play in the win over Minnesota. “Easily could have scored; goes down.
“It’s the best thing to do in terms of managing that situation and winning the game and not having to kickoff again, ending on our terms. So just really, really cool play and not surprising that Tyler Warren is going to put the team first. I’m a big believer in that. The more you give to others and pour into others, it comes back to you ten times. Tyler Warren is a perfect example of that.”
